Although it was initially believed that the primary factors leading to breakouts were a person’s diet and excessive stress, over time research has shown that hormones, bacteria and environmental factors can also be some of the major contributing factors. So what starts the acne in the first place? Acne is an actual disease of the pores. Dead skin cells are shedding much too quickly in the acne-prone pore. It forms a plug along with sebum and hair and this is what causes the perfect storm and where the problem begins. Many see a dramatic difference in their first month. One of the newest and most effective therapies is used at Bella Grace – the Omaga LED Light Therapy. In the same way that plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into plant tissue, high intensity light emitting diodes (LEDS) utilizing specific, proven wavelengths of light can trigger a natural biostimulatory effect in human tissue. Research has shown that phototherapy can increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, kill acne bacteria, decrease inflammation, and decrease inflammation, while improving skin tone, texture and clarity. The therapy itself consists of an eight week treatment where the client is treated twice a week for approximately 30 minutes.
